Expel the yes votes from the party and cut off all their access to fundraising, then remove Schumer from leadership. Anything less is mealy-mouthed coward bullshit.
As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Democratic leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Democrats who opposed this vote.

Senate Democrats had the power to do one thing: This shutdown. And this is what they did with it. Maybe this is some brilliant political calculus, in which case I'll happily eat my words. But right now, it feels like the beginning of the end of the party in its current form--and by its own hand.

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

Regardless of the outcome he’s definitely not the QB he’s going to be yet, and that prospect still excites me. I’m rooting for the fucker to do it

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.
If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

All while Trump is actively trying to starve people!
After a week in which Dems exceeded expectations in elections, Trump's popularity continues to tank, the GOP largely abandoned the task of governing (just as Thanksgiving travel approaches), I'm a bit surprised to see many more stories highlighting weakness in the Dem than in the GOP coalition.
This NYT framing is ludicrously overstated. Sure, there are primaries. But if anything, the results showed a lot of Dems that there's a way to unify the factions around anti-Trump and affordability politics (as I try to argue in the piece/thread below).

This commercial drives me nuts every time I see it—and makes me want an ice cream cone!
Mocking the iPhone by making it a delicious ice cream cone probably isn’t as effective a strategy as Google thinks it is

Sorry, The Minnesota Star Tribune is going to have to retract today's entire print run, collect every copy from every newsstand and home-delivery address, bring them back to the Heritage Plant and grind them up into a pulpy slurry. "Al's Diner"? "Al's DINER"??

As I had to point out many times during post #metoo years, no one is owed a big Hollywood contract. No one owed a comedy special. Now: No one is owed a Senate seat. This dude was not murdered & he’s not in jail. He made poor decisions & his actions now are sus & so he doesn’t get the job. The end!
