“It’s impossible to reboot Bond” says production team who decided Bond first got his licence to kill in the 21st Century, as Daniel Craig, then got incredibly old within two films and was being put out to pasture, but also had Sean Connery’s 1960s car.

It’s Bond. Just do whatever the fuck you like.

I’m not even a Ramone’s fan by any noticeable metric, but just felt a tangible wave of second-hand rage when an AO Energy van drove past me and I saw it had “AO LET’S GO” printed up the side.

Artificial Intelligence? Sorry you must have misheard us.

'AI' stands for "Artificially Inflated" - as in the share prices of AI companies. Yeah, we should have been clearer on that.

Saw a video of a woman confronting a member of the senate today, saying she won’t be voting for anyone involved in this next election and he straight up goes “don’t bring politics into this”
anyway if dems think I'm gonna forget this shit in 5 months, they're wrong. if they think I'm gonna forget it in 5 years, they're wrong. they have fully convinced me that purging the party of these inept losers in the senate is more important than retaking the senate in the next election cycle

A massive congrats to @stopwoodsidemonash.bsky.social - absurd they have to work so hard to get the bare minimum
It's just been confirmed that Monash University is dropping Woodside as a partner because they don't align with their sustainable values. This is an incredible win for @stopwoodsidemonash.bsky.social who have run a dedicated grass roots campaign for years.

New rule: Everyone has to sing their true crime podcasts instead of narrating them
You ever think about how there was only 1 to 2 months between the actual wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and Gordon Lightfoot recording his song.

And how weird and slightly deranged it would be if someone had dropped a banger about a contemporary disaster on its heels.

Ok my EG Whitlam yarn. Early 90's Gough is speaker at a national Young Labor dinner. I'm a new SVP and get to sit next to him. He's being introduced by another delegate - at inappropriate length. Gough leans in a bit to me and asks *do the voice*

"Comrade, what faction is this fuckwit in?"

I visited my son Jake today at the nursing home where he's been since mid-July. Next week he's to have surgery on his spine, again. Then maybe he'll relearn how to walk, again, and relearn how to use his hands. When he's not dealing with seizures. Or blindness.

An outdoor cat did this to him. 1/

I'm surprised the AFL stats/historians are counting the 'Wildcard' Round as a final.

If it's an elimination final, then they should label it as that.

But to me its the last gasp chance for a team in the 'regular season' to make the finals. #AFL

In Cochabamba, Bolivia. I went to two corner stores. They sold razors, no shaving cream. I asked the hotel desk. Razors, no shaving cream. What the hell? I went to Reddit. Do Bolivians not use shaving cream, I asked? Go to bigger stores, they said, like I was crazy. Am I crazy? It all seems weird.

If elections still exist, Trump, it’s one term for the GOP again.

I think in a very basic sense, the US electorate want the idea of Trump without wanting the reality of Trump.
