Another data point for the weirdness of our political moment - there is a lot of energy in a relatively small far-right movement that is deeply disconnected from the values held by the majority of people.

I appreciate why this is being done in a (relative) hurry and why the folks designing it have ended up proposing what they have… but as a cyclist and a driver that frequents this area I really don’t love what’s being offered here.
I’d love to see a more drastic change.

The factional grifters will hate this, but the Mamdani-Spanberger-Sherrill axis actually suggests the outlines of a broad, emerging Dem coalition organized around both anti-Trump *and* affordability politics, not a party bitterly divided against itself.
These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

Watching this travesty has reminded me that in elementary school we did a musical that was loosely based on Oliver Twist and centered most of the action on a baseball team called the “Artful Dodgers”.

So I wasn’t 10x over, but about double on my treat-to-kid ratio.
At the end of the day, very happy with the choice to get the full-size bars I would have loved getting as a kid. Heard a few kids whisper “whoa - full bars” and that made my night. ❤️

If anything I think “horny for Jesus” spirituality has a long and peculiar tradition. Everyone should feel cringe about things in their own past that might now seem a little to earnest, but no one needs to be cringe about the Ecstasy of Saint Theresa (1652)
