Orks should have trains and they should be called Trainz and the model should be covered in grots (little space gremlin dudes) and at least one of them should have stripey dungarees, a hat, and a red neckerchief
Convinced a subsection of Warhammer Guys are just Model Train Guys Trying Really Hard NOT To Be Model Train Guys

Incredible, really.

“There’s clearly something political about it but nobody knows what it is,” said the restaurant manager.
It’s the exclusive everyone wanted, the story that will win next year’s Pulitzer…

I can reveal London’s giant AI generated Christmas artwork, the subject of much online mockery, is being torn down - and I honestly *genuinely* think you’ll never guess why. www.londoncentric.media/p/ai-artwork...
London's giant AI artwork to be torn down
The bizarre story of why a much-talked-about creation is being torn down. Plus: Docklands Light Railway extension, giant laser stalks the night sky, and more tales of Android phone theft rejection.

The initial image of light coalescing into a bird has big 70s children's tv show about paganism vibes. Just needs a library music backing track
Someone's keen! Not even light yet 😴

And of course the most important "inspired by Michael" creation, Tom Bombadil

Spent a good portion of my lecture yesterday telling my students about Fearless Nadia/Mary Ann Evans and lamenting that I still can't track down a copy of Hunterwali.
Any advice on sourcing this 1930s Indian stunt film, for research?

Just starting giggling to myself remembering the haunted look on Maisie Adam's face when she realised the two possible options of "I could paint my face" to make herself black and white

The year is 3035. Corporations have replaced nations. All religions are subscription services. Amazon is reportedly struggling to think of a way to bring the PontiffPrime back from the dead after the permanent exit of @YahBoyDaPope II in the previous installment

Amazon creating it's own problem with Bond has prompted me to sort-of-remember a good joke about the The Witcher recasting where people comment on Geralt being different and Jaskier/Dandelion saying he calls all his Witchers Geralt but I can't remember where I saw it and can't credit the author

@cinefeline.bsky.social A devil... or perhaps another scary bunny?
In St Mary's Church, Stottesdon, the medieval sedilia (stone niches where the clergy could sit during mass) are decorated with faces. The carving below is thought to depict the Devil.

The Shining is not actually a very good horror film and its status as masterpiece has irreparably harmed the aesthetics of horror cinema

Bear: bear noises

Ok, now let’s do a scene on a train, with more bear & less jazz hands.

Ok, now let’s take this bear to Europe. More bear sounds, more jazz hands. Etc.

Unironically my favourite piece of Rossetti art, and definitely in my top five Pre-Raphaelite pieces
The best bit is how Rossetti is roughly the same size and shape as the wombat, emphasising the wombat's humanity and/or the artist's wombatity. A tale as old as wombats.
156 years ago #onthisday, Top the wombat died. He was the pet of the poet and artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti who, upon Top's passing, created this self-portrait in mourning. More on Rossetti and co’s curious but longstanding fixation with the #wombat here: publicdomainreview.org/essay/o...

There should be the odd sporadic complaint fired off as dusk is falling, with complaints being registered in both organised and more reckless forms during the evening, culminating in a spectacular volley of complaining emails to the council around 9pm
The most British headline I've seen in a long time.

I'd completely forgotten my copy of Titane was a german release and that unfortunately I speak neither French nor German

Might still watch it though
