It’s weird how all these New Labour skeletons who successfully recaptured control of the party in 2020 are now crawling out of the woodwork to suggest Labour continue with the project of cracking down on minorities, backsliding on civil liberties, and unconditionally supporting the war US machine.

Any analysis concerned with potential downsides of social media needs something more sophisticated than “adversary-owned” to be credible. People just saw every US tech CEO grovel before a president-elect Dems themselves repeatedly called a literal fascist. This cheesy Cold War framing is unserious.
I’m concerned that Americans are flocking to a number of adversary-owned social media platforms. We still need a comprehensive and risk-based approach to assessing and mitigating the risks of foreign-owned apps.
