/8 There is no remotely plausible argument that it’s treason or sedition to point out that the military need not follow illegal orders. It is unquestionably protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.

Yawns are weird. You're tired? Why don't you open your mouth really big about it? What's that? You're not tired, but you saw someone else open their mouth big? Well, guess what.

Hang on, so the dossier that described editing and splicing together of quotes from Trump's speech as completely misleading compared the Panorama doc quotes with quotes from Trump's speech that were edited and spliced together to make them more innocuous...
Left: Donald Trump’s Jan 6th quote, as presented in the dossier that brought down two BBC bosses

Right: What Donald Trump actually said.

The separation of powers, like the constitution, is just a concept that exists in our shared imagination. What Vought et al are demonstrating is that the only thing required to destroy that concept is enough people with enough power to choose to wilfully ignore it
vought justifies all of this as a vision of "separation of powers" — an idea that i'm more and more convinced doesn't actually exist, at least not in any strong form, in the constitution — but the thing that comes across is his basic contempt for representative government

These people have demonstrated again and again that they are at war with reality and have absolutely no shame. To rephrase Shannon L. Alder, it's "like trying to play chess with a pigeon.
No matter how good you are, the bird is going to shit on the board and strut around like it won anyway.”
The key problem with what Ezra Klein says here is that he fails – or is unwilling – to grapple with the fundamental reality of the political conflict: The movement that dominates today’s Right fully rejects the very idea of “living here with each other” as equals. That’s their defining position.
"All I can say for me in the work I do is that I want to create a space that takes our disagreements seriously, that takes the stakes of them seriously, the consequences for people seriously, but does so without deepening our divisions irreparably. We are going to have to live here with each other"

Michael Fabricant's hair defects to Reform UK
Another ex-Tory heads to Reform, and another likely suspect.

This will ultimately bite Farage in the arse. Half Reform supporters loathe the Tories. And these Conservative ex-ministers have massive egos and will soon be plotting to take over.

I hope politicians from all parties come together to condemn his deeply dangerous and irresponsible rhetoric.

Britain must stand united against this clear attempt to undermine our democracy.

If he doesn't, then perhaps he should shut up rather than stirring up fear and loathing.
