Beautiful video from @evanedinger.bsky.social showing how cool commuting with a bike can be, especially in a city like London. You experience the city in a more positive and joyful way, and it can even be faster than public transport. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dmf6...

Ok Google. Show me a first class example of driver entitlement and trying to take the absolute piss.
“You’re going to have to help pay for the upkeep of my private road you use to access the driveways you shouldn’t actually have”
“No way - and what are you gonna do about it?”

#silvertowntunnel the cycle bus is designed to fail so it can be cancelled though lack of use. Leaving a £2bn tunnel just for cars!
5 full size bikes per bus, with 5 buses per hour. Total capacity of 25 per hour!!! About 30 seconds of rush hour cycle use on the central London cycleways!

In my local park, Highbury Fields, works have begun to dig up some of the road dividing it and convert it into rain gardens. The rest of the road will remain open as a cycle lane and a permanent play street.

Super proud to have played a role in making this happen.

this is incredible stuff. most state DOTs would spend tens of billions on highway expansions to try and see numbers like this (that wouldn’t even pan out anyway thanks to induced demand lol)

According to Russian sources, Ukrainian forces are actively bombing the Kinburn Spit.

"On the evening of January 3-4, on the spit, the positions of our volunteers were fired upon by artillery, and then massively attacked by Baba Yaga-type copters. Unfortunately, there are losses among our guys."

Hoogeveen: 2019 vs. 2024. When I visited in 2019, I had to share the main road through the town with cars. By 2024, it was upgraded: one lane each way, bidirectional cycle tracks on both sides, separated by parking and trees. Side road crossings now prioritize safety with space for cars to yield.

Yes! Priority Square intersections are amazing. They calm arterial highways into neighborhood friendly streets, while carrying same volume of motor vehicles.

It’s not just about what you remove (cars, noise, dirty air). It’s about what you add (people walking, a lot of bike parking, trees, outdoor dining, and room for kids to play safely). Amsterdam: 1986 and today.
