This week marks the start of the 4.5 each mile tunnelling works for HS2 between Old Oak Common and Euston - the originally intended London terminus.

This is nearly two-and-half years after the scheme was paused by the previous government.

Was called in by the mayor of London on Monday 26th January, will now be determined via public hearing at some point this year.

The second scheme call in this year and both within the London Borough of Barnet.

Locally contentious plans for 228 homes to replace Penge’s Blenheim Shopping Centre to all be homes for social rent for those on Bromley’s housing waitlist after increased funding from the Greater London Authority (GLA).

With the shopping centre due to close on 2nd Feb.

418 co-living unit tower proposed for Old Oak Common, within half a mile of Willesden Junction station.

This follows consent a from 2018 for a 20-storey tower containing 85 self containing dwellings which lapsed.

Plans to replace bungalow with 15 homes in Barking & Dagenham approved with no affordable housing this month.

The applicant claimed a deficit of £1.88m, this was then after negotiation turned into an £200k payment in lieu of affordable housing elsewhere in the borough.

Plans for 274 homes on a brownfield site in Chelsea was also approved by Kensington & Chelsea council earlier this week.
 
The scheme has been designed for the local council, would deliver 53 homes for social rent and 65 social rent extra care homes and 156 private flats.

This follows the consent from the adjoining half in Hammersmith & Fulham last month.

Today plans for a refused student development in Paddington, will be determined today via public hearing by the Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills.

This follows a refusal by Westminster City Council in January 2025. Was called in March.
