I have never photographed a butterfly before. Photographing insects is not something I like to do but what do you think? I do not know the specy of this butterfly.

American Red squirrel (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus). It was enjoying the sun and happily posed for me in a Fir tree.

This was the first time I've ever seen a White-breasted Nuthatch in our yard (and there were two!). Always lots of Reds, but never their paler cousins. Very exciting!

Having been away quite a bit recently I thought I had missed the opportunity to 📷 the South Gare Bluethroat. Luckily for me it was still about this afternoon.

Our coast is the home of very many western gulls. After the storms, our beaches get littered with critters and gulls come by and attempt to clean it all up

Ima let "less than ideal lighting" do a LOT of heavy lifting here...

but...

Y'all! APHID IN THEIR WITTLE BEAK IS IN FOCUS!

Purely accidental, I assure you - but dang! Wondered if the two Ruby-crowned Kinglets zipping all over this morning were actually finding buggies. Yes. Yes they were!

For the #BirdOfTheDay theme of #Least, here is a bird I’ve only seen once, the Orange-crowned Warbler (Leiothlypis celata) above Yaquina head along the Oregon coast. The Pacific birds are the brightest in coloration.

Breaking: the Titmouse is on the loose.
He is taking no names.
He is taking no prisoners.
He is giving no dangs.
Give him all the nuts and berries and no one gets hurt
