Fewer workers. Fewer international students. More people leaving.

A "step in the right direction" according to the PM.

Impossible to take PM/govt seriously on growth if they are deliberately reducing it (and making the fiscal position worse) *as a matter of policy*.

Ploughing through this and is Mahmood really that shocked that her policies are being endorsed by the far right? The language alone, such as describing the last government's hideous policies as "open borders" contains enough dog whistles to set every one of them in the country barking.
Government has today published its consultation into "earned settlement", the forward alone contains a hot mess of misrepresentation of the current system by the Home Secretary. I would strongly urge anyone affected by the current system to respond.

This is very concerning. In future the BBC should submit any proposals for the Reith Lectures to Karoline Leavitt at the White House so that President Trump can sign off on them. Maye Pete Hegseth next year?

This man was trafficked into Britain, in ways which the government would now use to make him subject to deportation. According to a leading political pundit, he brought with him ancestral violence, which means that he *and his British-born children* should be expelled.

This man.

21 Lebanese Christians were slaughtered. More buried under the rubble where they suffocated slowly

Educational charities like Policy Exchange are required to act in a balanced and non-politicised way. But Policy Exchange has flatly ignored those rules.

We’ve made a complaint to the Charity Commission:

X is a cesspit led by an unhinged billionaire who is desperately trying to stir up civil war in Britain.

Nobody with any sense or decency should be there.

No organisations, government departments, or politicians should be there.

Everyone who is, is enabling this monster.

The world's worst humanitarian disaster has just taken a massive turn for the worse, and it's getting little media attention.

Arab fighters from the RSF are now systematically slaughtering black Africans around El Fasher in Sudan. Will this be seen as genocide? The intent is certainly there.
I wonder if Stop The War are interested in Sudan

"There is no great outcry in the right-wing press or from conservative politicians against mass deportation.
The days when they stood up to the injustice of retrospective legislation are long gone."

Another good and valuable read on how fast things seem to shift in Britain atm. Deeply worrying.
The Conservatives plans to deport hundreds of thousands of legal residents of the UK are far more extreme than anything Donald Trump is proposing
