"NATO is not the thing that Russia is afraid of. Russia is afraid of democracy expanding to Russia. Why are we in NATO? Its because we are afraid of Russia. And the only thing that really works – the only security guarantee that works – is NATO's umbrella," Kaja Kallas said in an interview with AFP

Here are our 5 bullet points of what we did this week; keep in mind that NASA receives less than 1% of the entire federal budget.

1 week. All in 1 week. 🚀🚀

Water mites. Beautiful. Terrifying.
None intentionally looking for them! 😃 Just the occasional specimen as bycatch. By the way, John Clegg’s bigger book, The Freshwater Life of the British Isles (in The Wayside and Woodland series) is available on @archive.org, too.

What is happening? This is devastating
We’ve tried to shelter our minds but tonight we’re preparing for the genocide of Science.

Entire NIH departments will have no leaders.

World renowned Scientists kicked to the curb without cause, & grants will loose their lead investigators.

Is this what they want?
Chaos? Destruction?
NIH ban on renewing senior scientists adds to assaults on its in-house research
Policy follows firings of tenure-track scientists and suspension of training programs

RIP Gene Hackman - One of the most influential screen actors ever. There was nothing he couldn’t do. His work was searingly truthful and often brutally honest -he never let you off the hook . Not afraid of ambiguity- a lost quality these days .
Lucky & grateful to have share screen with him.

The TikTok ban was merely a performative bullshit ruse to give the orange felon credit for pretending to bring back a social media platform that he planned to ban from the very beginning. I hate him.

Yucks... Messy
Ryan Fournier, co-founder of Students for Trump, promoted an unofficial TikTok-themed coin on his X. The coin was reportedly created to "celebrate" TikTok's unbanning. Fournier allegedly received his free supply of the coin but later sold his holdings in a move widely regarded as a "rug pull."
