Lib Dems to force vote on creating new customs union with EU. Ed Davey’s party believes the move is the best way to ‘turbocharge’ economy, rather than tax rises. They're so right. Is Starmer's Labour so stupid or what in not supporting something so obvious?

Again my Lib Dem colleagues and I have been calling on the Government to scrap the two child benefit cap for some time to help lift thousands of children out of poverty and give them the best possible future. Let’s hope the Chancellor announces this on Wednesday.

Lib Dems, however, are going strong. 💪

Important not to overlook the fact that this bilge is amplified & disseminated by many prominent - and very real - racists who benefit financially, professionally & politically from the process.
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

Time to restructure the water industry for public benefit. End this leakage of what should be public funds into the private sector and likely out of the country, and reinvest in much needed water management infrastructure instead.
This is why OFWAT needs to be scrapped. They don’t even understand that the ONLY real source of income for water companies is bill payers

I've spent a lot of my political career listening to Labour activists call me, as a Lib Dem, a 'yellow Tory'.

Yet here is a Labour Government announcing a bunch of policies that are simply cruel, apparently due to political panic.

Any decent Labour members left need to stop this.
Today, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood prepares to announce the latest attack on refugee rights in the UK.

A host of hostile policy changes have already been announced. We don’t yet have the full details, but we’ll keep you updated as more becomes clear.

My thoughts are first and foremost with those who lost loved ones or live with life-limiting conditions like Long Covid. The Inquiry’s finding that an earlier lockdown could have saved 23,000 lives is devastating. We must learn lessons: act early, protect lives & jobs, and ensure Govt is prepared.
