"MTA announces FTM transition during Pride Month"

bsky.app/profile/did:...
Per MTA Board materials released today, the F and M are going to be trading places.

The M gets 63rd St and Roosevelt Island while the F will join the E underneath 53rd St. This should speed up travel times and reduce some delays caused by interlining.

my current manuscript asks a lot of controversial questions, but perhaps its most daring:

what if two boys kissed, and they *both* had brown hair?

Everything about this is a tragedy, every level, from cheated freelancers to authors obscured to readers who don’t get served either.
This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?

i know people outside of nyc hate hearing about nyc local politics but the dems running against each other in the mayoral primary have recently banded together to campaign as a group against andrew cuomo
"We each individually believe we will be the best mayor of the city," Zohran Mamdani says on the WFP tele town hall, about Lander, Adams and Myrie - "and we also understand that what unites us is a common desire to defeat Andrew Cuomo in the pursuit of that."

MASKING WORKS. We recently compared direct observation of school masking with passive wastewater surveillance and found that even a 10% increase in masking (which is ~40 kids in a 400 person school) significantly decreases the risk of in-school transmission

TIL
The last, if you please. As I do like to note, “till,” in the sense of “until,” predates “until” in English by a century or so, so it’s not a clipped version of it, making “’til” and “til” unnecessary.

i realize the title is a bit counterintuitive but the answer is that you cannot as an individual guarantee your food is safe. we can, as a collective, push back HARD on dismantling food safety regulations, and put pressure on an unpopular administration to keep our food from killing us.

NEW LOOK ALERT!! ICYMI, earlier this week @dawbooks.bsky.social shared the new paperback cover for @sophieburnham.bsky.social's SARGASSA. Roman alt history thrills my classicist heart, especially with a full host of queer characters & an exploration of the dark heart of empire. Love the new look!
