Fucking with the fairies is an idiots move.
Remember that time when Ireland rerouted an entire highway to avoid pissing off the fairies that truly nobody believes in but we’ll just in case
Oh definitely. Kinda like going to Iceland and having it explained that no, people don’t REALLY believe in elves. Also, don’t fuck with the elves.

This generation of Irish politicians loves the sound of its own voice.

He's a spiv, a gombeen, an avoider of responsibilities, a payment reneger, a shit heel of the highest order.
Ivan Yates tells Oireachtas Committee 'I'm not a strategic advisor. I'm not a spin doctor'.

Since the story broke that he did media training for Fianna Fáil presidential candidate Jim Gavin the reaction from the public has been that this is a 'media political bubble', he said. jrnl.ie/6880051

It looks like Denmark just collapsed the "the left should be more right-wing on immigration" argument. The Danish socdems, hailed by many as the successful example of left-chauvnism, just lost votes to right-wing parties and also the Green Left gained. Labour pay attention, it could happen to you.
Denmark, Preliminary final election result:

Local election

A (S&D): 23.2% (-5.2)
V (RE): 17.9% (-3.3)
C (EPP): 12.7% (-2.5)
F (Greens/EFA): 11.1% (+3.5)
Ø (LEFT): 7.1% (-0.2)
O (PfE): 5.9% (+1.8)
I (EPP): 5.5% (+4.3)
B (RE): 5.4% (-0.2)

This is an excellent point.
I would love Ireland to qualify for the World Cup for all the usual reasons. But it would also be fantastic to have the whole country festooned in tricolours that haven't been put up by the "Ireland is Full" lot.

It's always important to remember that Peadar Tóibín was so butthurt about not being able to force women to be pregnant against their will that he formed his own political party about it so any time he opens his mouth on anything you should immediately dismiss it and come back to that central point
