Mostly retired DJ at Pop-o-matic and Got To Give It Up. 1/3 of popshow promoters Macho Music Is Stupid. Also quite keen on horror and craft beer. He/him.
Have a drink every time DR WHO gets mentioned on the @scarredforlife.bsky.social podcast if you want to get good and drunk.

Every time I have a hospital appointment (and I've had a lot recently) it threatens to snow. It hasn't up to now, but I've got a bad feeling about this next one.

People talk about this stuff in terms of how much it'll suck for gaming and I hate to inform you how many MRI machines, X-Rays, all sorts of other vital machinery are just a Windows IoT Edition PC in a beige plastic box with a big magnet/accelerator/whatever attached.

Watching CRASH (the pervy Cronenberg one, not the Oscar winning one) for the first time since it came out, and the film club Bangor Student Union somehow got hold of a copy while it still sort of banned or something.

Once again, I must remind people, there is a Rage Against the Machine tribute act from Tipperary called... Fecking Ragin'

I've seen them and they do, indeed, Rock 🤟

Yet another hospital appointment on Thursday. Good job I've got an understanding employer innit.

I mean, they'd have to be pretty heartless not to be understanding in the circumstances but *gestures broadly at late stage capitalism*

TIL learned from @gorethingspod.bsky.social and their CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD episode that I've been pronouncing Catriona wrong all this time.

Also that Brad has a pretty creepy haunted house story.

Word
While I maintain that Vertigo is Hitchcock's best, I can understand why someone would dislike it.

Rear Window, on the other hand, is that rare perfection where I can't comprehend how someone couldn't enjoy it. Godfather 1 (even if 2 is better) and Wizard of Oz are other examples of this.

The UK was declared measles free in 2017.

Vaccine programs completely eliminated it.

Since then, pro sickness conspiracy theorists and anti science idiots have enabled its return.
“Seven schools and a nursery have reported more than 60 suspected cases of measles in an area of north London, and labs have confirmed 34 cases since January 12. Some children have been treated in hospital.”

Wait, that folk horror (sigh) with Sophie Turner and Kit Harington is a remake of ONIBABA?
