And Dog Day Afternoon up next!

Harold and Maude tonight.

I'm not as big an Ashby fan as many, but his 70s run has to be respected. For my money, Shampoo is his best picture.

Also, my Brazil post went nuts this evening, which is nice to see. Great, one of a kind film, and everyone wants TCM preserved.

Big screen fun this afternoon. The oldest feature I've seen on the big screen now. And, of course, an absolute masterpiece and joy.

The Keaton or Chaplin debate is tired because the only correct answer is that they're both incomprehensibly brilliant.

Brazil on #TCMParty West. Starting now. I've never seen this before because it's not streaming anywhere.

TCM is goddamn miracle, btw, and I hope it survives forever no matter what happens with WB.

An end of MAGA, if ever, is not an acknowledgment that the policies themselves completely, disastrously, and inevitably failed, but a rationalization that the policies are good but Trump didn't properly pursue them.
And while that would be the outcome regardless, the NYT shouldn't be seeding that BS

The Running Man advanced screening with the man himself, Edgar Wright, in the house.

If you ever have any chance to hear Wright talk movies, whether his own or anyone else's, run (pun!) don't walk.

Not much more to say about The Wizard of Oz than what Scorsese says in Rebecca Miller's new Mr. Scorsese documentary.

"You really are taken into another world."

November 8 is kinda Knives Out day, but I rewatched that recently before seeing Wake Up Dead Man and plan on rewatching the whole trilogy next month when the third is on Netflix. So I'm watching Johnson's Looper today instead.

Isaac is the last name of the actor, not the first name, although it is a common misconception.

You Only Live Twice is a weird movie for a thousand reasons. Doubly so when you realize it's somehow written by Roald Dahl.

"Democrats won big in all of last night's off-year elections, here's why that's proof Democrats are losers!"

Political punditry is so, so funny.

Dr. No gets discussed a lot for starting one of the biggest franchises in film history, Connery's iconic performance, and many other worthwhile topics. But we don't talk enough about how the CIA agent is wearing women's sunglasses.

Not ready to put away my Blue Jays playoffs rally towels yet!

Now watching Hedda on Prime, which as far as I can tell the service is not pushing with its usual new release gusto. I had to search the title and dodge four different invitations to watch the new Jurassic Park just to find it.

Congrats to the incredible Dodgers team.
#BlueJays had an incredible run and I loved every minute. I still can't believe I've been to a World Series game.
There were no ump shenanigans or controversies tonight, just two teams giving it their all to win. That's all you can ask for. What a series!

Watching The Age of Innocence this morning. This is an unrelenting smart and esoteric movie. As unapologetically adult and worldly a drama as we've seen.
Scorsese is the GOAT throughout his career, his work with Michael Ballhaus is really on another level. The camera moves here are insane.

Great game. Kudos to the Dodgers for forcing Game 7. An honour to have been able to be there live.

Jays have shown time and again that they have the heart to put a loss in the rearview and move forward stronger together.

November baseball.

Best of One.

Let's do this, #BlueJays!!!

Genuinely perfect use of the (hilarious) picture here.

By the standards of 1930s American films, James Whale, despite a background in theater, is was way, way ahead of the curve in understanding that film is much different than recorded stage plays.

An amazing 1930s Halloween #TCMParty lineup this afternoon and evening, starting with The Invisible Man, which includes one of my single favourite lines of dialogue ever, by a police officer after a shocking face off with the title character:

"He's invisible, that's what's the matter with him."
