@vivbnow.bsky.social Did you see this?
The most remarkable thing on it is the songwriting demo for "Yellow Submarine", which revealed first of all how much more of it was Lennon's work than we thought, and secondly... well, just listen.

A Cosmic Watercolour 🎨

A delicate bluish reflection nebula surrounds the star R Coronae Australis. This impressionist painting vibe is created by starlight reflecting off small dust particles.

The pub I happened to be in (The Astronomer, Bishopsgate) had Fuller's Vintage on cask. Result!
Went back for a second half, got a pint (and paid for it). Gave half away. Gorgeous, despite everything

It's cinnamon bun day in Sweden. Here's one from last Sunday, bought from an artisan bakery in Keswick.

Lovely tribute.
Deeply, deeply sad about the death of Danny Thompson. I met him just as I was starting out playing solo and he was unbelievably encouraging. He gave me a press quote for my first album that I've used ever since, and got me the biggest tour of my life... (1/*)

Visited The Lamb in Lambs Conduit Street, today. Probably not been there since I worked in Holborn, many years ago. Glad to say it's much the same, including the snob screens (I think they're called)

When did the Euston Tap change its layout? Not surprised they took the side beer fridges out. Slightly fewer taps now. Or is memory playing tricks? Just realised that "BBF" is "Bristol Beer Factory" 🤦

If you see headlines claiming NASA's found life on Mars - these are new studies of features in rocks which, if they were on Earth, look like the kind of thing caused by microorganisms. But they could very well - are most probably in fact - be caused by chemistry, not biology.

In Alien Earth, a guy is typing "crew dead" on a computer and the words are reflected on his face, but they aren't reversed like they should be. For readabilty I guess. They should've used a palindrome instead, so we can still read it backwards. "Ya won, evil aliens. Is neil alive? no way"

So good to see Jennings, the much-loved Cumbrian brewery, back in operation after being cruelly axed by Carlsberg. Classic ales in fine form, brewing to capacity, may have to expand. Article to follow @camraofficial.bsky.social Beer Magazine. #BskyBeer

A little thread about cinema...

Last night I went with my wife to catch a screening of Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar' at the local multiplex. It's one of her favourite films. It's been over ten years since we caught it on the big screen, but we've seen it many times since on DVD.
