Nationwide, hundreds of thousands of Mexicans--and Mexican Americans--were pressured by their neighbors to "go back" to Mexico. In the East Chicago Harbor, half of the Mexican neighborhood left when the local White community had them removed from lifesaving Depression relief.
My Family Was Almost “Repatriated” to Mexico in the 1930s. I See It Happening Again.
The pressure to “self-deport,” driven by Trump’s threats and rising white nationalism, echoes a dark chapter of U.S. history.

Video of incident we mentioned earlier—masked ICE agents rushing to move a car out of the road after they broke windows and detained someone on the southwest side.

This car was eventually returned to family.

We're told agents abandoned several other vehicles today around Chicago.

OPINION: Just last week, Hungary’s ruling Fidesz party adopted a bill that would allow the government to temporarily strip dual citizens of their Hungarian passports, should they be deemed to have acted “in the interest of foreign powers.”

The ambitions of this bill are clear as day.
Hungary could suspend citizenship to silence dissent
The ambitions of the proposed bill are clear: It’s about targeting civil society, journalists and activists — within Hungary and the diaspora — who refuse to fall in line.

The Dallas ICE office is involved in a mass removal effort targeting nearly 200 people — many without removal orders — scheduled to be deported to El Salvador today.

This is not just cruel – it is lawless. I refuse to stay quiet while families are being torn apart, and lives are being put at risk.

I don't think I see the media making this distinction enough.

"Deportation" is generally understood to be a transfer of a person to *liberty* elsewhere.

Transferring them to indefinite, violent detention is not deportation.
When you force people to foreign incarceration for the rest of their life without due process... that's not deportation. That's human trafficking.

And it's not a prison. It's a concentration camp.
