This ruling prioritizes the discomfort and fear of some non-trans people over the health and wellbeing of trans youth. It disregards science and every major medical authority. It endorses the state controlling parents and doctors. Every resulting suicide is on the hands of these anti-trans justices.

administration should just put up a “no niggers” sign and save themselves the trouble of writing out each country
A State Dept. cable says the Trump administration might add up to 36 countries — most in Africa — to a list of 21 countries on which it imposed a full or partial travel ban this month. Citizens can't get visas to the US. Our @nytimes.com story: www.nytimes.com/2025/06/16/u...

I’ll say it again— Republicans are the number 1 beneficiaries of the “soft bigotry of low expectations” that they pretend to decry
And again, they were about 15-20 times as large as the April 2009 Tea Party protests, so I'll sit back and wait for 15-20 times as many stories from political pundits explaining that this was a decisive rebuke to the sitting president that Changes Everything.
Just to say it again, the Big Beautiful Protests (the No Kings marches) involved 5 million people and were likely the largest day of protest in America EVER. News outlets that downplay this fact, are lying.

an actual problem in US soccer is that a tiny clique of ex-players holds an enormous amount of power. Lalas is the most prominent example (and is also the dumbest and possibly the worst—but definitely the dumbest) awfulannouncing.com/fox/alexi-la...
Alexi Lalas questions diversity in U.S. soccer: 'Maybe our best route...is actually being more exclusive'
Alexi Lalas says the USMNT might improve by being more exclusive, not more inclusive, blaming diversity for the team’s ongoing struggles.

Hi everyone

I was denied entry, detained, and deported from the USA over the last 48 hours because of my reporting on the Columbia student protests

I arrived back in Melbourne hours ago and had my phone handed back to me upon landing

A conversation I had a while back with President Obama and other fathers about the importance of men being there for younger men. To end up with the book years later about those types of "fathers' in my life is kind of surreal. #TheManOfManyFathers

Reminder that I AM LATINA AND PROUD. I am the product of immigration - my grandmother was undocumented and entered the country from Mexico as a baby. My mother was a fierce, gorgeous Latina woman of Mexican and Spanish descent.

A welcome change from before, but these two returns do not change the fact that they brazenly and pointlessly (beyond the point of cementing a policy based on fear and terror) defied the courts. And now they’re going to pretend they didn’t just because they Finally did this. Don’t let them. It was…
It’s not just Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Law Dork can also report that O.C.G., a gay man sent into hiding when the Trump administration deported him to Mexico, has been brought back to the U.S.

Read my Law Dork report on Trump’s deportations — and the challenges they have faced:
Where are the people the Trump administration has deported?
The Trump administration's aggressive immigration deportation efforts often have been carried out illegally. What has happened to the people at the center of the cases?

If you told me I had a choice of a next door neighbor — sight unseen, the most wretched person from the most wretched country in the world, or Charlie Kirk, or Matt Walsh — I would pick the wretched person every single time, because there’s a chance they’re a decent person.
So am I allowed to call these people Nazis yet or do I need to wait for Charlie to be able to grow a hitlerstache

Georgia’s governor promotes his Medicaid work requirement as a national model for reform.

Yet the program has cost taxpayers more than $86M, three-quarters of which has gone to consultants, and enrolled only 3% of the quarter-million Georgians eligible.

Georgia Touts Its Medicaid Experiment as a Success. The Numbers Tell a Different Story.
Only 6,500 participants have enrolled in a program that has cost taxpayers more than $86 million — a warning for other states looking to impose restrictions on Medicaid in a second Trump presidency.

While in principle we need a federal entity tasked to remove criminals unlawfully residing here, ICE as presently constituted is just a criminal gang. Best to burn it down and start over.
I was never an abolish ice person but the whole mask crap and lack of basic respect for our communities.. it’s time to get rid of them and find some accountability
