The hospital has faced bomb threats, hate campaigns, and threats to funding over the years but has never wavered in supporting gender-affirming care.

We need more bike libraries that include all types of bikes for all ages and abilities.
I have an older relative who is considering an electric trike, but really needs to try it out for a few days before committing to a purchase. Anyone have suggestions?

The @mplscargobikelibrary.com has one but they live right across the river in StP so I don’t think they can join.

I learned a few days ago that a group of 2nd graders in my city spent several weeks creating an abolitionist city as part of their visual arts class. I was so happy to hear this and I have invited the class to exhibit their work. They will be joining in the Abolitionist Toyery on August 10.

Thank you!
Note to editors and producers: If an executive order demands action that is illegal or outside of the president’s authority, then you should not describe it as ordering something. You should say it seeks to achieve some outcome and then note it is illegal or beyond the power of the president.

In the 70s & 80s, feminists connected violence against women to a critique of state violence. Emily Thuma @haymarketbooks.org traces how this anti-carceral feminism got hijacked by tough-on-crime lawmakers—then revived in the modern prison abolition movement.
Feminism Against the Carceral State - Emily L. Thuma - Inquest
Seventies-era anti-carceral feminism opposed “tough on crime” policymaking and played an important role in the making of today’s prison abolition movement.

I beseech you not to act like this is business as usual or it will indeed become business as usual.
Breaking: ICE arrests a Palestinian student at Columbia, Mahmoud Khalil, whose wife is 8 months pregnant. They revoked his student visa and his green card.

BOYCOTT COLUMBIA. WRITE & Demand answers.

This is fucking sickening.

Rep Zephyr’s speech flips 13 GOPs, trans bills die in Montana

Trans people have been scapegoated so effectively (among older people) that we're flooded with models of how to hate.

But when people hear the love behind why we stand up for each other, we win.

Bravo, @zoandbehold.bsky.social!

When you feel yourself becoming complacent or surrendering to hopelessness or apathy, remember that everything that exists today exists because someone(s) dreamt it up and decided to put in the work to make it a reality. We can create new ways of doing things, new ways of being, new worlds.

A lot of folks are waiting for someone/thing to save them or tell them what to do. People don't realize you can start a protest, make your own fliers, practice mutual aid, write a newsletter. You don't need permission. You can be creative. You don't have to do things how they've always been done.
