NEW ANALYSIS: UK household electricity bills have risen over the last 5 years.

BUT: Despite frequent claims that net zero is to blame: 2/3 of the increase is because of high gas prices shows new @ukerc.bsky.social report.

Arguably without renewable energy the UK would see even higher bills today.

JUST IN: DOJ says its attorneys have reviewed and redacted “millions” of pages of Epstein Files material and should complete their review in the “near term.” But they say there’s no specific date or ballpark for the release. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

Two things to learn from this.
1. The rightwing newspapers are lobby groups whose purpose is to advance the class interest of their proprietors.
2. Lobbyists for the rich and powerful lose their jobs if they are not prepared to lie.

We've spent ten years being proved right about all the things the loudest, biggest voices in the UK media insisted, often obnoxiously, we were wrong about. The real kicker is that there's no consolation whatsoever in being correct. Brexit, Putin, Johnson, Truss, Trump, Twitter, Netanyahu etc etc...

What’s happened in these cases (Spotify, YouTube etc) is that a corporation has decided to maximise its profits by not paying its suppliers and workers, while selling that idea to its customers as a bargain.

Same as Amazon or any high street fast fashion clothing brand. It’s a grift.

Fuck off.

This is unhinged. A 75 year old alliance in NATO is being trashed to serve one man's ego.

Trump is not a reliable ally, he's a reckless bully. Starmer needs a plan B to stand up for Britain and our allies.

It just makes your thinking come across as low-rent.

There’s more to the Epstein Bannon Farage connection than this.

Epstein was actively guiding Bannon how to secretly finance ‘The Movement’ — a right wing pan Europe organisation in concert with Farage — set up by his partner Laure Ferrari

Well spotted on the date.

In his emails to Epstein in mid November 2018 Bannon claims to have met up with Rees Mogg, Farage and Boris Johnson to keep Brexit on track and defeat Theresa May. Farage denies this…. And yet….

Today we’ll get latest net immigration figures - They’ll show immigration for work is plummeting.

Why is this not part of the discussion on Rachel Reeves balancing her books & stalled growth?

For every 100,000 drop in net immigration, the OBR adds £7bn to the deficit. #r4today
