1. Four more VA school districts announce they will not capitulate to Trump demands for trans bathroom bans.

They show more fight than prestigious universities and hospitals that have bowed.

In response, the Trump admin will revoke lunch money for hungry kids.

As a former Texas State Rep, let me be clear: LOCKING Rep. Nicole Collier inside the chamber is beyond outrageous.

Forcing elected officials to sign “permission slips” & take police escorts to leave? That’s not procedure. That’s some old Jim Crow playbook.

For trans Virginians on health plans regulated by the Commonwealth rather than Medicaid or the ACA: the Code of Virginia still requires your insurer to cover GAC.

Still, the self-described pro-life party voted to take away health coverage their constituents need to live.

Defeat it in the Senate.
The Republican-passed “big beautiful bill” takes away health insurance coverage from ALL transgender people, regardless of age.

HRC President Kelley Robinson calls it "cruel."

1. Far right federal judge Matthew Kacsmaryk has just vacated all EEOC protections for gay and trans people in the work place.

He says protections from "being fired" do not mean they are protected from harassment by Title VII.

I cover this insane ruling here.

I would really love it if mainstream journalists would seriously consider the possibility that RFK Jr.'s politicized HHS under Trump is as accurate about gender-affirming medicine as it is on autism or vaccination.

Just a reminder that Trump/DOJ continuing to let Abrego Garcia sit in CECOT is *a crime*. Deprivation of rights under color of law is a crime. Was it an "error" at first? Maybe. But once they were aware of the error, and ordered by a judge to return him, and then refusing, it's willful 1/

I spoke to a South Carolina woman today who is miscarrying - her fetus has no heartbeat - but the state's ban is preventing doctors from taking action.

She has to walk around with a dead fetus for another week so she can get a FOURTH ultrasound.

This is what bans do.

It has now been 30 days with NO humanitarian aid getting into Gaza.

No food, no water, no medicine, no fuel.

That is barbaric. The U.S. must end our complicity in these atrocities.

Do you know who laid the foundation for the FDA?

President Theodore Roosevelt. Do you know why? Because he read a great piece of literature that exposed the mistreatment of immigrant workers and the disgusting, unsanitary practices in meatpacking plants…

The book is called “The Jungle.”

We can discuss how self-serving it was, but I do think it was valuable that Americans *used* to think that we *should* be a force for good and be willing to reach out and help. Beyond soft power, it was a good thing folks would expect us to send aid, to organize around it and to offer support.
