The more I think about it the more convinced I am that these people do not like games. They like being asshole bigots and they just use games as their vehicle for that.

cringe, as an idea, is a dead end. it’s a means of writing off sincerity and earnestness in pursuit of some ill-defined concept of above-it-all cool. letting it help define online culture was a mistake. if you view everything as cringe, you are living an empty life
Honestly I think people are too quick to use the word cringe. To me, cringe is when I’m a little secondhand embarrassed but it’s ultimately harmless. Nothing cringe about millions of people wanting to speak out

I know the algorithm of both TT and YT rewards negativity/controversy, but ew. I'd much rather watch videos of people gushing about what they loved.

I'm totally serious when I say Hogwarts Legacy was the canary in the coal mine for just how little solidarity liberal "allies" will show marginalised people.
All they had to do was not buy a game that directly funded an aggressive transphobe and that was too big a sacrifice.
