Rental Family absolutely flattened me. Don’t think there’s been a movie that so effectively utilises Brendan Fraser’s inherent wholesomeness.

Having clocked Hollow Knight: Silksong, it’s given me the confidence to finally do what I’ve always longed for - I‘m doing it - I’m going to finish Sekiro.

I think there's a special dislike I have for people who keep saying things like "why do movies not look like movies", or "it looks like it was shot on a phone!", which a) is not true, b) demeaning and ignorant to people who work on films, and c) an excuse for only liking movies when you were 10.

There’s a massive market for kids movies with a soundtrack that their parents love. I was at a wedding last night and witnessed an entire room lose their scones when the soda pop song from Kpop demon hunters dropped.

Wicked: For Good doesn’t reach the heights of Wicked. Feels like it’s speedrunning to the finish line. My review:

There's been a lot of very sophisticated, compelling social commentary on declines in cultural literacy in recent years, but honestly it is very reasonable to just boil it down to "people no longer understand that things mean stuff"

A lot of people have said this already but I have gone from "Epstein probably just killed himself" to "Donald Trump personally performed Sub-Zero's Spine Ripper Fatality on Epstein right there in his cell."
Lutnick is the current Secretary of Commerce and Epstein sent this email three months before he died.
Epstein mocked Trump for “leaving his nose print on the glass” while watching young women, wrote that Trump knew about illicit activity tied to Mar-a-Lago, and visited “many times,” and noted Trump’s planned visit to his neighbor Howard Lutnick’s house.

I love my feed. It’s wall to wall Epstein shit with random smatterings of Steven Universe lore for reasons I can’t explain.

As much as I enjoyed The Running Man,
it’s the first time I’ve felt Edgar Wright’s meticulously energetic voice missing from one of his films. Apart from one sequence, it’s sorely missing Wright’s visual panache.

Rewatched The Irishman last night. The final 15 minutes fill me with absolute existential dread, the idea that life has a kind of built in, personalised apocalypse, and everything becomes deathly quiet around you until it’s your turn to “go home”.
