I made this for myself but I’m sharing it here if anyone else is interested in a news feed with only legit sources and with US politics filtered out. It’s not perfect but I’m happy with the results.
As a baker and general lover of bread I’m really tired of the gluten free fad. Gluten is what gives good bread its wonderful texture and unless you have celiac disease there is no reason to avoid it especially when the products are less healthy.

Now that’s a lovely loaf of cheesy sourdough! Homemade Yesterdaze cheese diced up, layered in last turn before shaping.
Instant ‘grilled’ cheese! Slightly over proofed, 2 day cold ferment, dough got a little warm.
Screams for an Onion soup, tomato soup, split pea with some ham hocks.

@jeffreymphd.bsky.social Do you know what this might be? I found it when sorting photos from 2004 taken in Fundy national Park. It looks sort of like a woodchuck but darker and bigger. My son, owner of seven complete volumes of wildlife fact file, had suggestions, but wasn’t sure.

If you’re going to post endless screenshots from Twitter could you please for the love of god put alt text on them a) because you should and b) so my feed isn’t just stuff the mute function isn’t catching because you haven’t used any words on a words based social media platform?!

As a reminder, appeals for posts with the "no alt text" label are not accepted and will be dismissed immediately. It simply checks for the presence of alt text, and you can easily avoid it by adding appropriate alt text to your images.

Increasingly thinking how useful it is to have people you trust around you who can say "stop it, you're acting like a dumbass" (I have a few of those, and plenty of others on social media willing to add to the chorus). And how few of the folks in power today seem to have those people around them.
