Americans are paying over 20% more for coffee under Trump than under Biden. When Trump brags about tariff collections, he's bragging about his tax on your cup. Good morning!

for as long as I've been alive the GOP "negotiation" strategy is to offer you a giant mountain of shit you then have to negotiate to a slightly less ridiculous mountain of shit, at which point everybody applauds the fact the giant mountain of shit wasn't even bigger

Republicans in Washington hope that you won’t notice this.

They’re trying to repeal Obamacare again. This time, they just aren’t advertising it.

This tax bill will dismantle Obamacare and skyrocket your premiums.

I’ll be voting no.

I am looking for congressional leaders to come out quickly and forcefully against this. We need unequivocal opposition. We need theatric demonstrations of defiance. We need to see leadership. Trump will steamroll us all if we display weakness. Where are our leaders?

This new White House executive order says that the US Attorney General is going to prevent states from implementing democratically passed laws regarding climate change and clean energy. It scarcely needs stating at this point that this is wildly, unambiguously unconstitutional. Dictator shit.

It’s a recalibration of economic control.

Oligarchs don’t live paycheck to paycheck. They have the capital to buy market dips and recoup faster, acquiring more assets at fire sale prices along the way.

When the dust finally settles, they will own more.

The rest of us will own less. A lot less.

Fascinating thread on the similarities in the science policies of the current Trump administration and the Vichy Regime
1/ There have been some comparisons between Trumpism and the Vichy regime (see this paper by @joolia.bsky.social : www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...). Having worked on Vichy's "scientific" policies, I think there are indeed ideological similarities worth exploring. 🧵

I'll take that if it's the best we can do right now.
Democrats and natsec Republicans could just conspire to make Marco Rubio POTUS by impeaching the 3 people in front of him for jeopardizing American national security (Grassley's the toughest case, but could probably get him on board anyway). All completely legal and 100% justified after that garbage

The scenes in the Oval Office today will shame the US for decades. They’ll never be forgotten.

A world leader, fighting for his country against the 21st century’s Nazis, came to the US and was attacked & abused by a gangster regime siding with the fascist invaders.

A historic disgrace.

Trump & Vance are monsters. Just absolutely shocking to bring one of the leaders of the free world into the Oval Office and dress him down to demand he thank Trump for Trump's greatness, while this actual leader tries to protect capitalistic democracy from Trump's flailing autocratic petrostate boss

This was a disgusting display by the soft, uninformed VP Vance trying to school Zelensky, the man who has led his country through the most surprisingly resilient and effective fight for sovereignty against a global superpower.

Every negative stereotype about America is confirmed in this exchange.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.
