This is true. And it is unfortunate how our actions or lack thereof will harm many people worldwide. I am ashamed of us (the US).

I am reminded of Christine Blasey Ford about Kavanaugh (2018), "Indelible in the hippocampus is the laughter. The uproarious laughter between the two, and their having fun at my expense"... this will be indelible in our collective hippocampus.

I'm an American and frequent visitor to Belgium (family friend buried at Henri-Chapelle.) I'm mortified, embarrassed, ashamed by what is happening here, but have seen the signs for years, thanks to history, and my visits to Belgium, France, Holland.. unfortunately most Americans don't know or care.

I am so bummed out. This is my neighborhood and I actually heard hammering, as in roofing, this morning when I walked my dog. I need to learn how to be an ally.
