Political violence is abhorrent. I have not celebrated Kirk's death.
But Newsom calling for his followers to "continue Charlie Kirk's work," someone who praised stoning gay people as "god's perfect law," who called for men to "take care of" trans people like they did in the 50s and 60s, is not it.

not just that he has no constitutional authority, there isn't even any particular legal or institutional mechanism by which the president can make anyone treat this as anything other than a weird advisory opinion.
This “explicit” is a weird editorial choice. The constitution gives the president no power over this at all. It’s not ambiguous.

I recently started doing BJJ given the rise in violence against LGBTQ+ people like me, but also to improve and work on myself. It was a big step for me personally and after a few months of intro classes I’m happy to get my first Gi. Thanks to all those who encouraged me, wouldn’t be here without it.

Sigh. Transit advocates have been asking for *years* for more resources to make buses better: Countdown clocks, car cameras, more service, accessibility training, sheltered bus stops, TPS, and so on. Free fares was never it and we're no closer to getting what we've BEEN asking for w/ this attitude.
