How do we maintain common decency when monsters are in charge?

Part of the way to do this, I believe, is to celebrate integrity wherever we find it — like the actions of Danielle Sassoon. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/surviving-in-a-time-of-monsters

Opinion | As a conservative academic, I had to vote for Trump because wokeism has destroyed the integrity of American academia. Here’s why the Department of Education should be led by a pro wrestling executive.

just speaking from personal experience now, i think it is really important to understand that simply being black is read by a non-trivial number of people as anti-white extremism

A reporter for Politico writes an article primarily about how she never sees any Democrats on Twitter/X anymore. She never for a second questions whether she should be getting most of her political information from a website owned and operated by the administration and designed to manipulate her.

We need to fight hard and we need to fight to win.

We need to bring aggressive litigation.

We need to stand in the town square and say we will be stronger than the billionaires are and call out what Trump is doing is wrong.

That is what I am doing every single day. I hope you join me!

We can lament all we want, but what are we going to do?
#SpeakUp #FightBack
Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive):

1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment*

2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything

3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can

4. Citizens march en mass

I'm going to be blunt here and say that there is an epistemic disease among much of the American establishment that absolutely refuses to believe that Trump is capable of truly bad things. It's part of what's enfeebling the elite opposition to him right now.
Goldman Sachs, Jan 21: "Despite Trump’s comments that the 25% tariff will be implemented in 10 days, we continue to believe the odds of a 25% tariff on Canada and Mexico are low (20%)." Why have analysts been caught so flat-footed by Trump doing *exactly what he said he would*?

My office heard today from a local homeless shelter that they received notice from the Trump Admin to enter anything outstanding into their payment portal by 5 pm today.

They were locked out hours before the deadline, jeopardizing housing for over 200 people in our community.
