They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

Philly is the latest city to use bus-mounted cameras to automatically ticket cars blocking transit lanes and bus stops.

This is one the best transportation technology innovations of the last decade. Every city should be using it.
SEPTA, PPA will start using AI cameras in May to ticket illegally parked vehicles in bus lanes and stops
The authority will use the technology on 150 buses and more than 20 trolleys to detect the violations. Citations will be $101.

Officials are discussing an executive order that “would shut down all functions of the agency that aren’t written explicitly into statute or move certain functions to other departments.” Because the agency was created by Congress, it therefore can reportedly only be fully eliminated by Congress.

A Finnish 🇫🇮 study highlights that commuting by bicycle significantly reduces sickness absence among municipal employees.
