In the last 10-15 years, a particular slice of online fandom seems to have gotten madder and louder. These viewers only assess media through the binary lens of:

I think it's interesting that so many folks view any close or intense relationship between fictional characters where strong feelings are dramatized - either positive or negative - as inherently romantic.

It’s an absolute shame that DC fired Gretchen Felker- Martin for exercising free speech and then @bsky.app suspended her account. Every writer here should be decrying this because we have to stand up for each other! This is ridiculous.

This is correct. Any candidate cynically “triangulating” on trans kids is a non-starter, and now is the time to say so. There’s still so much time to advance candidates that DON’T suck.
I will never, ever vote for Gavin Newsom. Ever, under any circumstances. I don't care if he becomes the Dem nominee, he's still not getting my vote.

As someone who adored him since 2004 and voted for him 5 times, I can't wait for him to leave office.

in my opinion: our current dearth of good rom coms (books and movies) comes down to:
1. they're not being written by people who are Actually Funny
2. Writers are afraid sincerity is cringe so they try to undercut romance with unfunny jokes that essentially command audiences not to care too much
