I write about TV. Words at many places including The Daily Beast, Elle, Marie Claire, IGN, The Playlist, Backstage Magazine, and more. Talking about costumes, fashion and Felicity’s hair.

Saoirse Ronan's two new films are worlds apart. Their costumes? Not so much
Despite being set more than 70 years apart, London nightlife scenes in the World War II drama 'Blitz' and 'The Outrun’s' 21st century tale of alcoholism and recovery each display a 1930s influence on ...

kind of funny that an olympian said they are here to represent "compassion, respect, and love for others" and some people automatically knew that was a statement against them

I have made... a mistake. Each auction lot had 8-12 photos, so I assumed that was the number of pieces in the lot.

It was merely a sample. Each lot contains 100-ish pieces.

I won three lots.

Good news, I got the behind-the-scenes deets on this week's big poop scene in THE PITT. (Per Isa Briones, there was actually a sniper laser target attached to the "poop cannon"!!!)
decider.com/2026/02/06/t...
'The Pitt' star Gerran Howell was really nervous the "poop cannon" was being built for him: "I have bodily-fluid spidey sense at this point"
Howell detailed “the passing of the poop torch” to Lucas Iverson’s James Ogilvie.

This happens to me way often than I care to admit (and can normally be traced to a memoir that I was reading within the last five years.
The single best feature on social media is Letterboxd sending you a little email when a movie you put on your watchlist is available on a new streaming platform. Simple, informative, and then you get to ask yourself now whyyyyy did I want to watch that movie again????

There are back to back scenes in this week's episode of The Pitt that offer a reminder as to why you should *never* eat while watching The Pitt www.episodicmedium.tv/review-the-p...

Just for fun, I would LOVE for "Dark Winds" to get... say... 25% of the praise and awards attention that "Slow Horses" gets. They're both reliable, tony adaptations that return every year like clockwork, with superb ensembles anchored by a tremendous lead performance (McClarnon >>> Oldman).
‘Dark Winds’ Scores Early Season 5 Renewal at AMC
The news comes ahead of the Feb. 15 season four premiere of the noir thriller, which is set in the 1970s on the Navajo reservation.

There are only *3* of each of these left in the shop! Until Friday, $5 from every print sold will be going to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota (www.ilcm.org). So far you've helped to raise $75- let's see if we can get that to a nice even $100 (or more!).

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

Thinking about how Catherine O’Hara could make any single word hilarious, could rock the shit out of any outfit and did drunk acting better than anyone. What a monumental loss. The world just got a little less funny.

I don't think it's exaggerating to say that the stark contrast between Delia Deetz in "Beetlejuice" and Kevin's mom in "Home Alone" was the first time it really dawned on me what acting was.

Maybe it’s because I went in with lower expectations, but Bridgerton Season 4 has won me over so far between a luminous Yerin Ha, some welcome adjustments to Benedict’s book personality, and an upstairs/downstairs romance that changes the show for the better:

A perfect TV moment I still think about all the time
The anniversary nears for the one-night GOAT of chaos that was the Adam Pally/Ben Schwartz-hosted Late Late Show. Go on a hunt to find the episode and read the oral history I did in '20. Eric Andre, Pally, Schwartz interviews.

One of my favorite things.

“Minnesotans are insisting that their neighbors are their neighbors whether they were born in Minneapolis or Mogadishu. That is, arguably, a deeply Christian philosophy, one apparently loathed by some of the most powerful Christians in America.”
Last week in Minnesota, I watched ordinary people risk their lives to protect their neighbors. In the process, they not only won a significant—though not final—victory against authoritarianism, they proved virtually every MAGA social theory wrong. (gift link) www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
