"Dems seem more comfortable hitting marginalized groups with collateral damage if doing so makes it possible for them to land more effective blows against their Republican opponents." It may not in fact be politically expedient.

Why Are Democrats Teasing Homophobia in New Attacks on MAGA?
The strategy demeans an important constituency of the party without providing an obvious political gain.

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

As Trump ramps up his ICE raids in Charlotte, North Carolina, more than 30,000 students across the county reportedly did not attend school on Monday.

This isn't about going after the “worst of the worst.”

It was always about cruelty.

I mean, look, I'm not a reporter, so who am I to talk?

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

It’s transgender awareness week. I have two trans kids who are comfortable in and proud of their identities. I hope I can answer a few questions I get frequently and help folks feel more comfortable and well-informed.

According to a new analysis by Democrats on the Joint Economic Committee, the average American family has paid more than $700 in higher costs per month since Trump took office.

Remember when Trump said he would end inflation on "day one"?

Democrats Can't Blame Trans People for Their Own Failures
Despite the attempts by so many in the party's establishment to paint trans rights as a toxic issue, transphobia was soundly rejected across the country this week.

Tesla’s profit fell 37% in the third quarter. It's been in the process of laying off 14,000 workers. It had more cars impacted by recalls than any other brand in 2024.

Yet Elon Musk just got a pay package worth $1 trillion.

American capitalism is off the rails.

Remember: Wealth cannot be separated from power.

We've seen how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging our markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of billionaires.

Be warned.

SNAP has existed for 60 years. Benefits have gone out every single month over those six decades, including during government shutdowns. Until now.

Make no mistake: The money is available to fund SNAP during this shutdown. Trump is making a choice to withhold it.

Don’t forget this.
