When asked who holds him to account, Phoebe CEO Scott Steiner said, “I hope that our consumers do, right? ... They can do that by electing to get care elsewhere.”

Except in Albany, they don’t have anywhere else to go.

Sick in a Hospital Town, Part 5: Too Big to Fight
When a well-off, widely respected pillar of the community and member of the hospital’s board can’t get the care he needed at Phoebe, it raises the question: Who can?

I’m so sick of these fucking establishment losers forcing us to lose with them. Primary every fucking one
Unfortunately, the leverage Democrats had to extract real policy changes was squandered under Schumer’s failed leadership. Instead of holding the line to force negotiations on a real solution, he allowed a surrender that Republicans seized as fuel for the fire for their extremist healthcare agenda.

There are certainly going to be many that they attempt to not tell us about now, for sure.
Does anyone else wonder how may second strikes there were we just don't know about?

Pause and pay attention to the weight of this moment - its fear, its injustice, its danger. This is “American” fascism in its infancy. Still in diapers. Imagine what it becomes as it matures.

They won’t stop unless they’re stopped.

Do something today, do anything today, to push against them.

Finland is the latest example of a right-wing government that can talk tough but can’t govern once they achieve power. Great at fearmongering, weak at everything else.
Whee! The most right wing government in the history of #Finland is set to break one more record. This time, our unemployment numbers are climbing to become highest in the EU and surpass Spain’s!

Just recently our stable geniuses guided Finland to be the *only* developed economy without growth.

*sigh* yeah. Let’s go over the notes of how this happens: 1. Male 2. White. 3. Angry 4. Not actually sorry for any of what he did 5. Lots of whining and looking punished 6. Demands career back because accountability/consequences are too hard 7. Finds like-minded apologists

Yeahhh…there it is.
Some thoughts on The New York Times comedy critic Jason Zinoman calling Louis CK’s recent work “underexamined”.👀😬

You should see this for what it is. It’s not just a criminal protecting their own and pissing in the face of the law to further undermine enforcement. He’s attempting to build a safety net of people who owe him favors if he gets removed from office - either by losing or force.
This man ripped off teachers, nurses, small business owners - people from all walks of life and professions. Some lost their life savings. Not only did Trump let him out of prison, he also doesn’t have to pay back the victims.

Can I let you in on a little secret?

Billionaire philanthropy isn’t charity.

It’s PR to distract you from low wages, labor exploitation, and a tax system that’s rigged for the rich.

Imagine if other countries now see fit to blow up airliners, cars, buses and cruise ships based on suspicion (and uncorroborated evidence) of the presence of US drug dealers on them. As a retaliatory move. Fucking hell.
December 3, 2025 at 7:16 AM
Yeah that seems like it’s kinda important. Especially if the argument is that really old people shouldn’t be leading government because of this stuff.

If you look below the fold at some additional December 2 elections around the country, you see that Tennessee wasn't an outlier.

In Roswell, a city of 100,000 people in battleground-state Georgia, a Democrat just comfortably defeated the incumbent Republican mayor in a runoff.

Nope. Nobody is “owed” a career, let alone a second chance when they’re not at all sorry. He can fuck off forever, and so can @newyorker.com for this bullshit apologist piece.

FFS, the world can come get the war criminal already. I know we don’t do the ICC, but I’d love for another country to arrest his ass when he sets foot anywhere outside of the US. An international warrant would be a great start.

Yep.
There's no legal ambiguity. An there's no legal yoga which can get around it. By American law, Pete Hegseth is a war criminal.

Reject it.

Always.
