A bill with bipartisan support to bring safe drinking water to people in Colorado is vetoed by Trump.
Why?
It appears he’s pressuring Colorado to free his crooked ally who is imprisoned for tampering with voting systems.
Trump doesn’t give a crap about anything but his own money and power.

This is remarkably well-written. I had been mildly curious (and disturbed) when Olivia Nuzzi said she had a toxic, non-physical, *I-don’t-know-what-you-call-this* thing with RFK, Jr. Let’s not give it a name. Probably best not to read the poem either. I could not and feel I am better off.

I agree with the incredulity expressed by @justinwolfers.bsky.social. But it’s possible he really won’t run for a third term. Instead, he’ll simply declare no more elections and install himself as king. (Even if he hadn’t decided on the title King, he may use it now as an extra dig). 😱
It is literally a front page headline that a sitting second term President understands that the Constitution bars him from a third term.

It does somehow sum everything up neatly. Trashy vulgarian unilaterally decides to tear up an iconic American building as though it’s one of his tacky private clubs, rather than a national monument he has very temporarily (and foolishly) been permitted to inhabit.

When Trump announced 4 days ago randomly that India agreed to stop buying Russia oil, I was surprised because Russia is their largest supplier, we are still in a trade war with India, and their govt has said nothing about it. Turns out he just lied and made it up. Shocker.

Everyone can set aside partisanship, psychologizing, pathologizing, whatever, and—I would hope—still see that it’s incredibly dangerous for a political leader to be this disconnected from the real conditions in the country.

180. The Roberts Court Turns 20
The Supreme Court is much less popular and much more divisive today than it was when John Roberts was sworn in as the 17th Chief Justice on September 29, 2005. And at least much of that is his fault.

Again, the Shakedown State at its finest: the President acted on a capricious whim to enact tariffs with absolutely no regard for the effects on the people who voted for him, so now we have to use the same ill-gotten revenue to pay them off.
