Really awesome article about AI and education. I love the discussion around decoupling the feeling of learning vs actually learning, and how discomfort is often required for learning but understandably avoided when given the opportunity with AI.

I loved @anhdangerous.bsky.social 's original artwork so much that I had to make it myself. It houses an OEM PsOne, with a handful of mods, including a functional (but not comfortable) Claw Based controller.

I tried (and failed) to get Katamari Damacy creator Keita Takahashi to explain his new game, to a T, to me. instead, I had one of the most fun, baffling interviews I've ever done www.wired.com/story/katama...

How we use the internet is largely shaped by a handful of US-based tech giants.

US gov't surveillance laws allow them to demand access to your private data without your knowledge or a warrant.

Read the thread below for the list of European alternatives that put your privacy first.

On the other site, Studio Ghibli-style AI output is going viral and allow me to just say it is profoundly depressing to see that stuff being used to promote OpenAI's latest product. Miyazaki famously called AI-produced art "an insult to life itself"—and this in turn is an insult to him.

Generally we think of alt-text as the domain of those with accessibility needs.

However alt-text is useful for many reasons, which benefit your viewers, as well as you, the creator!

I remember coming across the (weird) book "How I Live Now" a few years back.

I remember reveling in the description of the English countryside, wishing I could experience that amount of escapism.

Then (spoilers) the war arrived on their doorstep.

Feels a bit too close to home nowadays

I don't like Trump, but I'm seeing outright death threats on this app which is #1 a federal felony and #2 not something you can claim is "just a joke" in court.

Please be careful.

Have some class and call him a poopie head instead.

Preach. It frustrates me to no end how many people don't think to research, fact check, or intentionally form their own opinions

#algorithmiccomplacency is a great term and already fits into our association with fear and "the algorithm"

Also appreciate #nuance, yet another lost art on the internet

Scoop: The databases powering DOGE.gov are insecure, and people outside the government have already pushed their own updates to the site to prove it:

Saw someone say, "End your friendships with people who are going about life like nothing is wrong." I will never understand people who think that further isolating ourselves from everyday people who don't get it is going to save us. It's not. Your judgment and disdain will not save us.
