The US has sanctioned European researchers and policymakers studying misinformation, framing independent inquiry as a free speech violation. The Trump admin's refusal to allow regulation of platforms is US tech policy by other means—now being enforced through sanctions. Scholars must pay attention.

The SOPA/PIPA protests back in the day were pretty much about the fear of an eventual oppressive regime seizing power and weaponizing online copyright requests to censor the internet.

Wait this is the plot of a movie…oh right
“Rather than relying on an implant or a patient's own body fat to add volume to hips or augment breasts, alloClae — which can cost as much as $100,000 per procedure — uses donor fat from a cadaver as a first-of-its-kind body filler.”
Corporate types are clamoring for a new kind of plastic surgery — using dead people's fat
Corporate types are waiting weeks for — and spending big on — alloClae, which cuts out the recovery time typically associated with body enhancements.

I honestly still can’t believe they did this

it’s just photos on a desk! it’s not even in the same league as his fucking birthday note! removing it after the fact is the biggest possible “we are covering shit up” signal they could possibly send, couldn’t look guiltier if they tried
This photo, file 468, from the Epstein files that includes Donald Trump has apparently now been removed from the DOJ release.

AG Bondi, is this true? What else is being covered up? We need transparency for the American public.

There is no basis to withhold these images under the clear terms of the Epstein Files Transparency Act. None.
WOW: The DOJ has DELETED an image from its release of the Epstein files that shows photos of Trump in a drawer.

Yesterday, we noted that this image — file 468 — likely slipped through the cracks while officials were attempting to hide materials pertaining to Trump.

Now, it’s gone.

Did anyone seriously expect Trumpist tech regulation to be anything but a plotline that wouldn’t make it out of the writer’s room?
The supposedly dastardly Chinese algorithm that required everyone to lose their minds and set fire to the first amendment for this law also remains owned and developed by bytedance and is leased to the US consortium under this deal. So, y'know, congrats everyone, great job
