Who could have guessed Republicans have never had a plan to lower health care costs for Americans and instead want to make deeper cuts to the ACA & enact dangerous poison pills to the legislation?? So glad we got a pinky promise for a vote on whatever the fuck this is.
Mike Johnson: "If there was gonna be an extension, you'd be massive reforms. You'd need income caps. You should not be subsidizing healthcare for wealthy people. You'd also need Hyde protections on those things and other innovations."

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

The Trump regime is declaring that funding for the CFPB is illegal.

Remember: This is the agency that protects Americans from financial predators.

Anti-CFPB oligarchs, who spent millions to re-elect Trump, will now have an easier time padding their pockets by ripping you off.

This hair-brained legal theory cropped up after THE SUPREME COURT already ruled that the CFPB's funding structure is constitutional. Russ Vought has been blood-thirsty to destroy the CFPB from the jump, now corporations can crush consumers even more, without recourse.

Fuck Larry Summers
One of my earliest moments of radicalization was in 2005 when Larry Summers said that women biologically have less aptitude for science than men. Following that, scores of equally unimpressive people wrote pieces trying to explain or justify his remarks, when they should have called for his removal.

Billionaires in America are richer than they've ever been before.

They're buying yachts for their superyachts.

The rest of us can't afford groceries, rent, or healthcare.

And the people in charge just cut healthcare to give billionaires more tax breaks.

We're being played.

"We'll see" IS NOT AN IRONCLAD AGREEMENT. Senate Dems just gave away the only leverage they had to protect millions of Americans' healthcare subsidies. Absolutely mind boggling.
Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

The cool thing re: lying about things people materially feel in their everyday lives is that YOU CAN’T BECAUSE PEOPLE KNOW HOW MUCH THINGS COST WHEN THEY BUY THEM.

But it’s time to realize that those are the wrong directions.
It’s up versus down.

👋🏼 Mom from Massachusetts here whose kid has free school lunch because of a millionaires surtax—it’s amazing and he prefers school lunch to what we pack him most days
School lunches get a bad rap, but they're healthier than the average packed lunch. And making them free for all amplifies academic and health benefits for low-income kids by removing stigma/shame.

So I'm glad Colorado voted to raise taxes on high-income households to make school meals free for all.
