My grandmother got shingles in 1990. By the time she was finally prescribed steroids it was too late. They were permanent. She spent 10 years in constant excruciating pain. It destroyed her QoL entirely. My grandfather was destroyed by her care. He killed himself 2 wks after she died. Get the vax.

Humanity needs to tap into what makes it coherent, empathetic, realize its vast potential for collaborative action & creativity. Instead, those who dominate our narratives are taking us in the polar opposite direction, exploiting every angle on a sinking ship for personal gain.
Recent studies in the field I work in suggest it is probably already too late save most of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet, which means we will have to find ways to adapt to committed sea-level rise of more than 3 metres over the next few centuries.
