I've had a lifelong fascination with the idea that ICBMs can reach the world's major cities faster than most places can deliver a pizza, so I can't overstate my excitement at

Whenever I see my university campus (UofT), I feel so many complex emotions. Nostalgia, in part. Mostly regret & grief at who I could've been. Bitter, at opportunities squandered. Pride in my survival.

My ADHD diagnosis + gender transition healed long suffered wounds - but the scars remain.

I need to know how much wealth they produce before receiving any more public funding. In the same way we ask of the postal service. If they can't turn a profit then why are we funding them?
Some breaking news: in a special Vancouver Police Board meeting only announced over the weekend, the police board has requested a $50 million increase to their budget for 2026.

This comes as other departments across the city are trying to cut staff to ensure a property tax freeze for next year.

If crime is way down, why are Canadians so afraid of crime? And what are politicians funnelling money into? My latest -- they are boosting policing to police us ... not keep us safe (unless you're rich, which trust me, you are not.)

17 people are dead from US strikes in the Caribbean this month and we still don't really know who they are and so far the president and VP have made jokes about scared fishermen.
Trump brags to military leaders about his strikes on boats: "They don't want go fishing. I don't blame them. There will be no fishing today. It's amazing what strength will do."

@miawong.bsky.social The recent ICHH episode on Abundance and SEZs hit alarmingly close to home.

Here in Ontario, Doug Ford's government passed Bill 5, which allows the creation of Special Economic Zones that would exempt corporate entities from having to follow any provincial/ municipal laws 1/5

It's really hard to overstate how hugely favored conservatives were up until two months ago.

Here's the graph of Canadian polling between March 2023 and March 2025. (Reminder: blue is conservative.)

Those are months and months of 20+ point leads for Tories.

@miawong.bsky.social you referred to Rob Ford as one of the 🇨🇦 conservatives Trump made an enemy of - it's actually Doug Ford who is our loathsome Ontario premier. Your point still stands, but Doug is the one who -dealt- drugs. Rob was the crack smoking one, and is deceased.

My country is riding the 'angry about petty shit' part of the breakup, before the trauma and uncomfortable realizations fully set in.

Soon we'll realize our ex is pretty unhinged and violent and we're gonna have to change the locks. Dunno what that means for the metaphor but idk, shit's fucked.

They left the message: "C'è sempre posto a piazzale Loreto, Elon" (There's always room in piazzale Loreto, Elon)
