So, my husband will tell you he's not a cat guy.
However, he has installed cat doors throughout the house so they never get trapped in a room. I didn't ask him to do that or even bring it up.
And now he's out back working on the cat hotel because I'm too sick to do it.

The same goes for your daughters, I cannot tell you how many of my girl classmates growing up exclusively read the same single series of whatever church appropriate tweeny bopper series from the 80s the library had because their parents never introduced them to anything else.
Reminder to offer your sons books (and audiobooks) you're not sure they will read (or listen to), just in case they do.

i know a lot of people are like "live for spite!!!" and i 100% support that if that's what keeps you going but if it doesn't work for you you can live for a variety of reasons, including "read book that isn't out yet", "love", "step on a crunchy leaf", "look at the river", "pat a creature" etc

My favorite was the mass events people put on, like weddings and graduations. Community coming together in peaceful ways is always nice.
Anyone remember when one of the biggest crazes during covid was people playing Animal Crossing and going nuts over getting Raymond and putting him in a maid outfit?

While I ended up growing closer to being Amber Petty and Mrs Happenstance (With less mystery), I always aspired to the idea of being like Granny Achings. She seemed like a vibe tbh.
Too much focus on what Hogwarts house people would be sorted into and not enough focus on which Discworld witch you'd like to grow up to be imho
