U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

NEW: Sean Duffy frequently calls safety his “top priority” as transportation secretary. But I spent months wading through regulatory notices and found something far different: that USDOT has been delaying, weakening and killing dozens of safety rules, many opposed by the transportation industry.🧵

One of the responses to my post about Larry Summers amounted to "he only pointed to standard deviations." Here's a report on what Summers said. I'd consider what he said pretty disparaging.

NEW: After fighting to keep emails between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s office and billionaire Elon Musk’s companies secret, officials have released nearly 1,400 pages of documents to The Texas Newsroom.

All but about 200 pages are blacked out.
Gov. Greg Abbott Was Ordered to Release Some of His Emails With Elon Musk. Most Are Blacked Out.
Months after fighting to keep secret emails between Gov. Greg Abbott and Elon Musk, Texas officials released 1,400 pages of records. But they reveal little about the two men’s relationship or Musk’s influence over state government.

Reminder to Harvard: the time to fire Larry Summers was when he publicly disparaged women's intellectual capabilities.

This is pretty amazing. This guy just won a solid victory in Bucks County, PA, one of the most important swing counties in the country, by *explicitly and deliberately* making his race *all about* nationalizing ICE raids. Confirms the point about this now being a winning issue for Dems.

This is a wonderful critique of a recent decree to silence indigenous languages in educational settings in Nigeria, or as the author so aptly puts it, "On the Silencing of our Tongues." I wish the Lagos Review was here to add to the BLK Sky conversation.

Speaker Mike Johnson is lying. The Epstein Files were not released during Biden Administration because there was an open investigation. That ended when Supreme Court denied Ghislaine Maxwell’s case in October 2025!

If Trump wanted to release the files no vote is needed . He can just do it, now.

Question for any romance novel history people out there: does anyone know who might have been the first romance author to write/publish strict dual POV, ie: in equally distributed, alternating chapters? (Or, first-ish, I know tracking firstness in literature is complicated)
