I bought some persimmons to eat myself, but I also gave the rest of the household persimmon permission.

(None of them want to eat persimmons. Or to hear me make this same little wordplay every fall.)

I have knitted half (ish*) of a cardigan! (*After knitting the matching other side, I'll extend at the bottom and the front, so I'm less than 50% done.)

This story is so wild, well-reported, and infuriating.
When President Trump issued an executive order about white South Africans, Sam didn't know it was coming. But she got to work organizing thousands of fellow white South Africans to turn a vague declaration into an actual refugee program. link.podtrac.com/oho4ky9w

🎼If we defeat them here
We'll defeat them anywhere
It's up to you---
They’ll insist this is a
one-off victory — something that can only happen in New York & nowhere else.

They’re wrong.

New York is the world financial capital — home of Wall Street & billionaires from across the globe.

If everyday people can defeat oligarchs here, we can defeat oligarchy anywhere.

November plays host to many reading challenges this month. I'll do my best to fit in as many recs as possible !

This week I have queer books with nonbinary characters, or written by nonbinary authors. I've read a few of these, but there are so many good ones here I'm looking forward to. (1/2)
