"Yorkshire Water was privatised in 1989 under the Water Act, launched debt-free and promoted as the start of a new, efficient era.

What followed was anything but. Today, the company carries almost £7bn in debt. Our rivers are polluted, our bills keep rising, and we’re told to pay still more..."
Yorkshire Water: it’s time to end the rip-off
Handing the company back to local people would return both control and value to those who need it most

"If you've had enough of politicians, if you don't trust Westminster, join us."

What a revolting, cynical statement for a man who was an MP of the party that ruled for 14 years until five minutes ago - and David Cameron's speech writer before that.

What contempt for voters. ~AA

Reform UK was created to make Brexit happen.

Nigel Farage spent 27yrs promising Brexit would make British people richer.

Now both Nigel Farage & Reform Party officials say Brexit, their main policy, is making Brits poorer.

ANYONE WHO STILL BACKS REFORM IS A TRAITOR TO THE UK!

Two policies will deliver Labour the 2029 general election, and a share of power indefinitely:

A) Rejoining the EU

B) PR

Surely it's better to have a big influence on policy essentially forever rather than all the marbles for one GE cycle then back in the wilderness for decades?

Britain *is* broken.

Brexit broke Britain.

And Nigel Farage is benefitting from the wreckage.

This was always my greatest fear with Brexit - that it would bring about stagnant conditions that favour extreme populism.

Much like drug addiction causes crashes that make the drug more seductive.

No, we haven’t rejoined.
No, the EU can’t make our laws.
Yes, it’s still a Brexit deal – just one with less pointless pain.

Trump is waging the trade equivalent of a nuclear war against the entire world.

He's telling other nations to surrender to his demands because he's willing to annihilate his own economy just to destroy theirs.

A tyrant's strategy that should not be possible in any country resembling a democracy.

Michael Heseltine has shown time and time again he’s on the right side of history.

Brexit was sold on a bed of lies and dark money.

It is time for Keir Starmer to represent the majority by getting growth, prosperity and security back by rejoining the EU.

Australian elections called for the 3rd May - really interesting ones to watch.

If Labor win there - and they're just ahead in the polls - and Carney wins in Canada it will help check the global rise of the right and give Starmer some more long-term international allies.
