Just a reminder: I’m not a Democrat. I think extremely poorly of the Democratic Party. I understand if you identify as a Democrat due to the limitations of our system. But if you try & shame me into some blue no matter who nonsense, you’re going to get blocked. I don’t subscribe to that nonsense.

You have to understand that Target is a Minnesota company. It’s one of the biggest businesses in the Twin Cities. This is a really big deal.

Listen, I’m a big fan of “rules of three.” People can do 3 things without forgetting. Can we all just get on board masking in 3 places?

1. Medical facilities
2. Public transportation
3. Grocery stores

Immunocompromised & disabled people can’t avoid these places. C’mon. Just give a LITTLE.

Ah yes, here it comes. Democrats want money to run an ad to defeat Trump. They’ve learned nothing. Including I’m not a Democrat and I will never give them a penny. Losers.

A dear colleague posted this yesterday & it summarizes my feelings so perfectly. It’s hard to express how gut-achingly sad I’ve been about so many good, intelligent people abandoning the most marginalized to be sacrificed. The tie to DEI is so on the nose. #COVID #DEI @thrasherxy.bsky.social

I can't emphasize enough how dangerous it is that Louisiana health officials are stopping staff from promoting vaccines at the very same time that the first severe case of US bird flu was found in the same state.

For those asking how, click on the three dots accompanying the troll’s comment. Then click on ‘hide for everyone’. THEN you block them.

So technically the advice should be ‘hide AND block’, not ‘block AND hide’.

She has repeatedly pointed out that the least fortunate in society are the MOST at risk for COVID - and understands the importance of breaking chains of transmission.

This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.
Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.

Cis gays: we must stand with our trans brothers and sisters. The disgust you see directed at them is unconscionable, and was directed at us not more than a generation ago. We abandon them, we abandon our humanity.

I'm a fierce critic of administrators...but I think it's ALSO important to celebrate & uplift them when they do good things. This is an op-ed written by our University Diversity Officer, Dr. Joseph Morales. This was a good read & gives me hope.

Trump’s Anti-Immigrant Agenda Impacts Us All, Like It or Not
As we face another chapter of dehumanizing anti-immigrant rhetoric and policy, supporting one another is essential for a just and healthy campus and community.

Non-student weirdos troll every article our campus student newspaper journalists post on social media. It is hard to watch (I have strong feelings about weirdos obsessed w/ college students) but the students always simply respond “bro do you even go here?” and keep it moving which I find instructive

People have been so busy “letting themselves off the hook” for the last five years that millions are dead and even more disabled.

People have to start thinking about community as a whole - and stop assuming they will be the exception.

Death and disability can and does happen to everyone.
People want to let themselves off the hook too... 'oh, I don't have xyz so I don't have to worry or take precautions of any kind'

we really, truly need actual allies to say, "trans people are not a thing we compromise on."

we're ~1.7% of the US population. we have no community money & many of us have lost or will soon lose access to lifesaving healthcare.

there are not enough of us to fight off this onslaught on our own.
