Many of us trained @ hospitals supported by NIH grants. We are losing great minds due to the changes. I know of more than one scientist who is leaving the 🇺🇸 to continue their research in another country. We will look back years later wondering how we fell behind as a world leader in science.
Just got this passed on to us, about the damage at NIH's home campus -- the largest biomedical research institute in the world.

"The articles on cuts and damage assessments are largely grants focused. The grants program is a bit easier to characterize because it’s visible outside the NIH..." 🧪

The CDC’s MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) did not come out last week.

The first time in generations.

Hasn’t come out today and I can almost assure you it will not.

Why? Trump wants it reviewed *by a political appointee*

Regardless of your view of that journal, that is censorship.

Caroline Kennedy, cousin to the current pick for HHS secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, has penned a scathing letter warning senators about her cousin, calling him a "predator."

She also says her father and uncle would be "disgusted" by RFK, Jr. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLLx...

Wow. Caroline Kennedy breaks her silence on RFK Jr in a message to Senators: “We grew up together. It’s no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because Bobby himself is a predator. He enjoyed showing off by putting baby chickens & mice in a blender to feed to his hawks.”

They’re stopping WIC payments.

WIC provides nutrition (& healthcare) to pregnant women & children under 5.

Despite being massively underutilized, >50% of all US babies rely on WIC.

Every $1 spent on prenatal WIC benefits saves >$3 in healthcare expenses (mostly to taxpayers) in the 1st yr of life
Broader agreement that it to applies to discretionary spending payments (Head Start, WIC, etc).

Trust the people closest to someone - they know the truth. Kudos to Caroline Kennedy for speaking out. The unintended consequences of placing someone without experience in this important role will have long lasting detrimental effects on science and medicine not to mention negatively impact PEOPLE.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
