Big news: The Trump administration has essentially proposed shutting down tribal colleges and universities, displacing more than 20,000 students.

My latest for ProPublica:
NEW: A nearly 90% funding cut proposed by the Trump administration would likely shut down and devastate the 37 tribal colleges and universities created to serve the students disadvantaged by the nation’s historic mistreatment of Indigenous communities.

The sheer volume of time and energy being spent by thousands of university-based researchers in *every* field right now to figure out if their funding will exist next month or next year, if their careers can even continue… just citing dollar values doesn’t do it justice, it is full-scale upheaval.

A government that will disappear people and do this will disappear facts too.

Gonna be hard to disappear that Angola prison guard tower from the Blacksonian, tho. The museum was literally built around it.

very helpful to democrats that one of the most unpopular people in american politics is front in center in the administration, allowing them to make the very easy case that you should vote for democrats to check elon musk.
