I'm not going to say that it must have felt good to be the Capitol Police officers arresting this seditionist thug.

Because Capitol Police officers are very professional.

But I know that if *I* were a Capitol Police officer making this arrest, I'd be feeling good about it.
NEW: It was supposed to be a triumphant return to Capitol Hill for Jan. 6ers vowing to sue the Justice Department.

It ended with Enrique Tarrio's arrest for suspected simple assault. www.politico.com/news/2025/02...

Most of my friends are in the theatre and it breaks my heart that there are no policies in place to protect them.

Viruses will rip through the company - especially considering singing spreads more virus than talking.

If theatres implanted clean air and mandated masks - this wouldn’t happen.
Still doing the same thing; still expecting a diff. result? How is this affecting show insurance?

Exactly this. The point of the FBI Director having a ten-year term was so that it would cut across presidential terms. "Trump announces FBI pick" is not a normal thing.
This is what has me so crazy about Kash Patel. Everyone has jumped right to the merits of Patel and no one has even paused to say, “Presidents don’t get to fire the FBI director without paying a huge political price.”
There seems to be a vast under-appreciation for the lines we’ve crossed and the world we’re in.

Trump’s win has basically put us in a post-rules world.

People in power don’t feel constrained by rules and any remaining checks don’t feel empowered to be checks.

This reality has not set in yet.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

The vicious cycle of monopolization:

1) Corporations argue that their growth is just part of the free market.
2) Use their monopoly power to gouge consumers.
3) Take a portion of their profits to make political donations.
4) Lobby against antitrust enforcement.
5) Repeat.
