1/ Over 2 MILLION non-native birds released every year into the Welsh countryside, without proper controls or oversight, causing harm to the natural environment.  Time is running out – call on the Welsh Government to licence these releases now!

🌍 A rare bit of climate good news:

92% of all new power added last year came from renewables.

Solar and wind are now the cheapest energy sources.

Let’s build on this momentum.

What an incredible year for our Lepidoptera - so many species have benefited from this good weather and I just stumbled upon some lush semi-shaded nettles growing behind my greenhouse and found 3 Red Admiral larvae, 6 Comma larvae and, I'm sure, 12 Comma eggs !!! Time to grow more nettles! Library 📷

Initially, there was real anger and fear at the idea of returning white-tailed eagles to Ireland.

Now, people take pride in 'their' eagles, seeing them as an asset and part of identity.

Ambitious rewilding could help make rural areas far more vibrant and exciting places to both live in and visit.

An extreme risk warning for wildfires has been issued by @scottishfirerescue.bsky.social .

Wildfires have the potential to burn for days, devastate vast areas of land and wildlife, and threaten nearby communities. Please do not have campfires or discard flammable material in the countryside.

Next week, thousands will gather in Westminster.

To say: enough.
Enough nature lost.
Enough polluted rivers, soaring bills, & communities left to struggle.

We’re calling for action that protects what matters: our health, climate, wildlife, & each other.

Will you stand with us?

Scotland has introduced licensing for grouse moors.

The illegal killing of Hen Harriers has hit a devastating new high. ⚠️

A new RSPB report reveals 102 incidents in just five years - with the majority on, or near, grouse moors.

Despite legal protection & decades of conservation work, the Hen Harrier is now the most persecuted bird of prey in the UK.

Birds have been shot, chicks stamped on, and 112 tagged individuals have vanished since 2010.

These crimes must stop.

On the longest day of the year, and one of the hottest too, many of us will be heading outside for al fresco dining.

Remember, leave your BBQs at home - the landscape is tinder-dry and just a small spark can lead to miles of devastating damage.

Spread a love of nature, not a fire. Thank you.

For months, alongside farmers, supporters, and nature groups, we’ve made the case for protecting nature-friendly farming.

Today, we’re pleased to see HM Treasury has listened: the nature-friendly farming budget has been maintained.

This is a crucial step, but nature needs more...

💔 This story broke today. A New Zealand bottom trawler dragged up 6,000kg of bycatch including protected coral in a SINGLE TRAWL.

To protect the ocean for the future the fishing industry must stop trawling vital ocean habitats.

The shocking, violent reality of what bottom trawling does to the seabed and its creatures is filmed and shown for the first time in Ocean with David Attenborough. And then, after all that, three quarters of the catch is thrown away.
