Did you know that in folklore, woodcock were believed to fly to the moon during months when they weren't seen?! 🪽🌕

The first full moon in November is sometimes called the 'Woodcock Moon' as it's around the time that migrating woodcock arrive and join our resident birds.

It’s hard to imagine a more important task than restoring nature, which sustains our very lives and is our only home. By supporting real action through the Natural Environment Bill, our politicians can show us that at last they’re starting to make nature a priority.

Did you know that bats hibernate? 🦇

Although bats are a well-loved symbol of Halloween, it won't be long before they head off to hibernate in November. During hibernation, bats lower their body temperature and their heart rate drops to help them conserve energy during the colder months.💤

There's still time to stop Berwick Bank, but only if we make ourselves heard.

Add your voice and tell them. Scotland can lead on renewables without sacrificing its seabirds.

Add your voice.👇

Berwick Bank could kill more birds than any other windfarm on Earth, devastating colonies of Gannets, Puffins and Kittiwakes off Scotland’s coast. 🚨

We support renewables, but not at catastrophic cost to seabirds already in crisis.

Did you know that the hearing of a tawny owl could be up to 10 times better than a humans?! 🦉

Tawny owls have two ear openings which improve their directional hearing. A passage through the skull links the eardrums, and enables the source of the sound to be pinpointed! 👂
